Let’s see what the Piemonte region has to offer!
Weddings in Piemonte region
Piemonte region is surely an off beaten track destination for Italian Weddings. Maybe it is more known for food and wine lovers tourists but it can offer enchanting surprises for destination weddings!
Piemonte region is located North West between Milan area and France. Believe it or not, Piemonte is the cradle of Italy as a Nation, back in 1861. The unification of the country was made in Torino, its capital in the very first parliament.
Torino is also well known for 2016 Olympic Games. Since then, the world understood that our wonderful baroque city was not only all about FIAT industry but much more!
There are some amazing palaces, royal residences and enchanting views for a city wedding close to the mountains. A very good – and most of all – less busy destination side of major Italian cities. Piemonte Countryside could be a very good alternative to well known Tuscany – less known, more rustic but surely full of charm and traditions.
The best wedding attraction is surely the Lakes area. It is made of smaller Lake Orta and bigger Lake Maggiore.
Weddings in Lake Orta
Orta is a small medieval full pedestrian village that lays on Lake Orta coast. It faces the enchanting St. Julius Island!
Outdoor ceremonies, bride arriving by boat, boat tours, romantic sunsets on the lake… It could be the perfect destination for a relaxed, authentic cozy and intimate wedding. Get lost in Orta’s “Italianity”!
Weddings in Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore is more luxurious! It could be seen as a smaller sister of the Lake Como, in Lombardy region.
In 1800, it was a famous destination for writers, poets, royal family members. They used to plan their grand tour here. As the matter of fact, Ernst Hemingway wrote his Farewell to the Army in Stresa, the main town of Lake Maggiore, the so-called – pearl of the Lake.
Grand Hotels on the shores, amazing villas, amazing gardens for a stylish wedding reception.
Weddings in Borromeo Islands
Borromeo Islands – still owned by Borromeo Noble family – are located just in front of Stresa and they can be just perfect for Italian style wedding photos.
Weddings in Langhe and Monferrato
Langhe and Monferrato hills have been recently listed among UNESCO heritage list for the beauty of vineyards hills. Best Italian wines are produced here: Nebbiolo, Barbaresco, Barolo, Arneis, Dolcetto.
And the food….delicious food! Steep hills of vines can be a perfect setting for a country wedding in Italy!
Weddings in the Olympic Alps
Last but not least: the Olympic Alps! Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx are the best locations for a Winter Wedding on Piemonte Alps.
Ski slopes, lots of snow and a fun approach to a wedding for the ones who love Winter Wedding and silvery atmospheres.
This is Piemonte with all its different destinations…Italy can offer a variety of destinations in such a small piece of land…Piemonte region is one of these!
