Must-see trends from the New York Bridal Week

The past week has been quite bustling for the wedding industry – the New York Bridal Week brought several news and trends. To learn about them,  we’ve caught up with the wedding planner Belen Esquivel and the executive director of Belief, Giovana Duailibe. And they told us about the hottest trends in the industry. Let’s take a look into that?

Bridal Boots

According to Giovana, on this edition, the bridal boots were one of the trends presented by the designers. “They wore short dress and tall boots”, she says.

Colored dresses

Belen says that the dresses presented touches of color like blush pink, soft blue, gray and champagne.

“I had the opportunity to check the Hayley Paige collection, which was amazing!! Rose and blue colored dresses, like some of her collection, are the new bet for brides down the aisle”, says Giovana.

3D details on wedding dresses

The wedding dresses were filled with 3D appliqués. “Spring 2017 will be full of 3D appliqués – not only in dresses but in all wedding designs. Metallics are going to be so in”, explains Belen.

Giovana also mentions some details like big bowls for wedding dresses. “You will see for this next season plunging necklines, big bold florals and backless wedding dresses”, declares Giovana.

Belen also believes that sheer dresses, transparencies in linens, off-shoulder dresses and crop top wedding dresses are also hot trends for Spring 2017.

Entertainment for guests

According to Giovana, the New York Bridal Week brought a lot of great news to entertain the guests during the party, like personalized drinks shots and 3D Photobooth.

Another fun option for guests was the crayon table. “The table has the design project of the event on a paper and the guests can use crayons to paint it”, she explains.

WOW wedding cakes

Giovana also saw different ideas for wedding cakes. “Like the one presented by Laudurée, a Pièce Montée en Choux”, she says.

Vow books and wedding story books

Have you ever imagined to have your story and/or your wedding vows written on a book with a beautiful caligraphy and artwork? Now, you can. According to Giovana, some companies presented it as an option for couples during the New York Bridal Week. Isn’t it amazing?

Nature and flowes

Belen believes that flowers and nature are the main and strongest inspiration for wedding trends in spring 2017.

The next bridal week will be held in New York City, April 22-24, 2017.
